What is the Nursing Home Loan (Ancillary State Support)?
The Nursing Home Loan is an optional State loan that lets you defer the portion of your Fair Deal contribution based on property — the HSE pays it now and recovers it later from the estate, so you don't have to sell the home during your lifetime.
It applies to the asset-based part of the contribution secured against Irish property. It's optional: you choose whether to use it.
It takes longer to put in place — typically 10–12 weeks, and the HSE says 'several months' is possible, with title documents the common bottleneck.
FairPath's v1 doesn't cover the loan branch yet. Leave your email and we'll tell you the week we do.
