Data note: FairPath tracks 525 approved homes. One public HSE row has a published weekly figure of €342 that appears anomalous, so it remains visible in the directory with a verification flag but is excluded from national public-price averages. That leaves 525 usable rows in the aggregate statistics.

The HSE publishes maximum agreed weekly prices for Fair Deal nursing homes. FairPath tracks 525 approved homes. 525 rows are included in the aggregate price statistics — 411 private or voluntary and 114 public — with one anomalous public price row kept in the directory but excluded from averages.
How much does a nursing home cost per week in Ireland in 2026?
Private and voluntary nursing homes average €1,306 a week; public HSE units average €1,955. Individual homes range from €1,174 to €2,902, depending on the home and county.
Do I pay the full price on the HSE list?
No. The listed figure is the full cost of care. Under Fair Deal you pay a means-tested contribution and the HSE pays the balance, so most families pay far less than the sticker price. You can estimate your contribution with the FairPath calculator.
