FairPath

Is Fair Deal income assessed gross or net?

Net. The Fair Deal assessment uses your net weekly income — after tax, PRSI and other deductions — not your gross income.

This includes pensions, rental income and other regular income, all taken net. Using gross figures by mistake inflates the assessed contribution.

FairPath enters net figures throughout, matching the HSE form, and always labels whose finances are being entered — the person going into care.
